We identified four important use cases for digital assistance systems within the realm of Smart Maintenance. We did a literature-based evaluation of different kinds of technologies to assist different smart maintenance scenarios. For example, we evaluated the usefulness of augmented reality instructions given remotely for vehicles which the person who is supposed to repair it is not knowledgable about.  We considered a whole range of different techniques, ranging from eye tracking, to augmented and virtual reality, as well as IMU-based object tracking.
