Linus Geewe

PhD Student

Department of Geodesy and Geoinformation

Linus Geewe started his PhD research programme at the Geoinformation research group at the Technical University of Vienna in October 2024. With a background in Human-Computer Interaction studies, in which he received his B.Sc. at his hometown University of Hamburg in 2021, he developed a research interest in the use of immersive technology for dynamic visualisations. During his two-year Master’s studies at Karlstad University in Sweden, he developed an immersive Augmented Reality application for engineering students at his university in a cross-faculty collaboration. He conducted user studies to investigate how immersive AR could be used in a university environment. This led to him receiving his M.Sc. in Information Systems in June 2024. His current research interest is in spatial HCI, focusing on interactive geospatial AR applications. He investigates how users experience and interact with geospatial data in immersive AR environments.
